Why do you need Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 tickets?
You need Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 tickets to join shareholder events and receive discounts. For instance, your ticket gives you discounts at the exhibition hall and at the Nebraska Furniture Mart, Borsheims, or The Bookworm (more below).
- Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 tickets are handed out as a 3.22- x 4.92-inch (8.2 × 12.5 cm) sized badge.
- The design of the badge changes every year to fit the yearly AGM design.
- In Omaha, you can pick up a lanyard to comfortably wear the ticket badge.
Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 tickets are also called credentials or shareholder badges. To keep it simple, I am calling them tickets in this guide.

How can you pre-order Berkshire Hathaway AGM 2025 tickets?

Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 tickets will be available after the release of the official proxy fillings in mid-March 2025.
I have collected the past ticket release dates to give you an estimate of when to expect tickets will be available.
- 2024: Proxy materials were available from 16. March 2024. Tickets on eBay were available from 27. March 2024.
- 2023: Proxy materials were available from 17. March 2023. Tickets on eBay were available from 27. March 2023.

How can you pre-order Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 tickets via the proxy form?
🗓️ The proxy form for BRK AMG 2025 tickets will be available from Mid-March 2025. Subscribe to our newsletter to get notified.
You can request up to four Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 tickets via the proxy form for free. To order the tickets, please proceed with the following steps:
- Send the filled out proxy form to Berkshire Hathaway: Print out the proxy form file, fill it out legible and send it to Berkshire Hathaway via your postal service. Berkshire Hathaway will send you the tickets to your home within a few weeks.
- Use your perforated card of the annual report: If you get a physical copy of the annual report, please consider using the perforated card to order tickets.
Based on my information, you do not need a proof of ownership to get your tickets. Simply filling out the single proxy form page is enough. However, please ensure that you fill out all forms legible. Otherwise, your Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 ticket might get lost in transit.
Please also make sure to factor in a shipping buffer:
- International shareholders have to plan for two weeks shipping time to Omaha and the similar time frame to get the tickets delivered. Therefore, I recommend sending out the proxy form in early April 2025 the latest.
- Domestic shareholders can receive your tickets quicker. But I also recommend mailing the proxy form as soon as possible.
How can you buy Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 tickets on eBay?

You can order your Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2025 tickets for a fee of $5 (ebay.com) or $6 (all eBay sites outside ebay.com) per ticket via the official account brka_b.
- Domestic shareholders will have to wait a few days until they get their tickets. Shipping should be free for them.
- International shareholders will have to factor in shipping times and additional shipping fees when using eBay. The price per ticket and shipping fees are the cheapest when ordering via ebay.com. Furtmore, timing your shipping window is important. In the worst-case scenario, it can take up to one month to get your tickets. From my experience, “real” shipping times are usually quicker. So, please plan at least a two-week shipping buffer before placing your order.

Ordering tickets via eBay is the most convenient option. However, this is not the cheapest option as you have to pay for every of your Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2025 tickets plus additional shipping fees.

The so-called “Will-call” gives you the option to pick up Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 tickets in Omaha. However, you might have to wait a few hours (in the rain) to get your tickets, as you can see in this video. Therefore, I highly recommend pre-ordering your Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 tickets ahead of your trip to Omaha.
How can you use the will-call to pick up tickets?
As a shareholder, you can pick up your badges on-site in the will-call area in the lobby of the CHI Health Center. Picking up your ticket there is possible:
- Friday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM (my recommended day to get tickets) and
- Saturday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
In the will-call area, you must show your photo identification and proof that you are a shareholder.
- The photo identification can, for instance, be your passport or your driver’s license.
- The shareholder proof can be a certificate of your broker, a printed security account statement, a screenshot, or just your broker app that shows you own a Berkshire Hathaway share.
Do you need to be a shareholder to attend the BRK AGM 2025?
There are plenty of good reasons to be a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder. And for good karma reasons, I would recommend owning at least one BRK.B share forever. But from my experience, it is not mandatory to be a shareholder to attend the annual meeting. It is only mandatory to have a Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 ticket.

What is the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 schedule?
The Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2025 will be held on Saturday, 03 May 2025, at the CHI Health Center Omaha. It has the following schedule (in local CT time):
- 07:00 AM: The Berkshire Shareholder Meeting 2025 and the Exhibition Hall doors open.
- 08:45 AM: The enchanting and exclusive Berkshire Shareholder Meeting 2025 Movie will start.
- 09:15 AM: Shareholders, like you, can ask Warren Buffett, Ajit Jain, and Greg Abel questions.
- Noon: The shareholder meeting will have a lunch break of one hour.
- 01:00 PM: The Q&A resumes. After the Q&A, the official AGM will take place.
- 05:00 PM: Berkshire Hathaway plans to end the meeting around this time.
How can you ask Berkshire Hathaway’s management a question?
During the AGM, Warren Buffett, Ajit Jain, and Greg Abel can be addressed with shareholder questions. You have two options to asking a question:
- Send your questions to Becky Quick in advance: You reach Becky via berkshirequestions@cnbc.com. Becky will select the best questions to ask them to Warren Buffett, Ajit Jain, or Greg Abel.
- Try your luck with the question lottery at the meeting: At 8:15 AM, shareholders at each of the eleven microphone locations at Berkshire Shareholders Meeting 2025 will be drawn to ask a question. If you are selected, you can ask any question once Warren Buffett calls your microphone.
How can you improve the chance to get a great answer to your question?
Berkshire Hathaway asks for you for the following to improve the chance of getting a great answer to your question:
- Please do not ask more than one question or attempt to “bundle” several questions together.
- Please do not ask what we are buying or selling. Even if the information is public, we do not discuss how we arrive at our decisions. We also will not discuss politics. Any other subjects are fair game.
Where can you watch the live stream of the Berkshire 2025 AGM?
You can easily follow the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2025 online via the CNBC’s website or CNBC’s YouTube channel.
Which part of the AGM can I only experience in person in Omaha?
The live stream covers 100% of the Q&A. But the first hour of the Berkshire Hathaway Meeting 2025 can only be experienced in person. You will miss the great atmosphere on the morning and the enchanting and exclusive Berkshire AGM 2025 movie if you only watch the live stream.
How can you get to the CHI Health Center on Saturday morning?
Most shareholders drive to get to the CHI Health Center. Uber, Lyft, and taxis will also be in high demand on Saturday morning. Therefore, it could make sense to pre-order them.
How can you park at the BRK 2025 AGM?
There is plenty of parking space available outside the CHI Health Center. Surface parking is $10. The garage parking is $15 (limited availability). Here you can find all recommended parking spots and additional information.
You might also have the chance to park for free in a 20-minutes walking distance to the CHI Health Center at the Durham Museum’s parking spot.
What are your alternatives to driving to the CHI Health Center?
There are alternatives to driving to the CHI Health Center. Please learn more on how to use these alternatives below:
- Public buses: You can use public buses that go downtown for only $1.25 per person and ride. ORBT, route 11, route 13, route 18, and route 30 should arrive downtown ahead of the start of the AGM.
- Heartland Bike Share: A ride with Heartland Bike Share can be fun. Their monthly pass offers a great deal. You can also park the bike close to the CHI.
- Shuttle buses: Berkshire Hathaway also offers shuttle buses on the AGM day. Their routes are described in the visitor’s guide.
What can you bring into the BRK AGM 2025?
What is allowed to bring with you to the CHI Health Center? Here are answers to frequently asked questions:
Can you bring your bag to the Berkshire Shareholder Meeting 2025?
The CHI Health Center has a clear bag policy. Details on it can be found on the center’s website. Additionally, I want to share some of my observations from several mornings of the Berkshire Shareholders Meeting:
- There is a baggage check at an airport-like security level for entrants with larger bags. Usually, you are only allowed to bring smaller bags into the Berkshire Shareholder Meeting 2025.
- There are also dedicated lines for people with bags, as shown in this video. So, bringing a larger bag or backpack could slow your entry into the AGM as the “bag line” can get crowded.
I would recommend going without a bag to the CHI Health Center. This will speed up your entry and also avoid any problems.
Can you bring your camera?
Yes, you should be able to bring your camera or video equipment to the CHI Health Center.
Can you bring your food and drinks to the CHI Health Center?
Unfortunately, it is not allowed to bring food or drinks into the CHI. Security will ask you to throw your food away during the bag control in the morning. Therefore, either make sure to consume your food and drinks while you wait in line, or leave it in your hotel or holiday home.
What food options are available at the Berkshire Shareholder Meeting 2025?
You have the following options to get food in the CHI Health Center:
- You can get free breakfast at stands in the convention center in the morning. Packaged bakery products, nut bars, soda, orange juice, coffee and other items are available.
- You can purchase food and drinks during the whole AGM. A wide selection of offerings is available at the AGM hall stands.
- You will find a limited selection of food, like Dairy Queen ice cream, in the exhibition hall.
- You can find some food vending machines in a separate rooms near the entrances. They can offer an option to get snacks at a fair price.
Why is it recommended bringing some cash?
The CHI itself is a cashless facility. So, please bring your credit card to pay at the stands in the CHI Health Center. However, you will need some cash to pay in the exhibition hall. So, please also have some $1 bills, for instance, if you consider buying from Dairy Queen in the exhibition hall.
What food options exist outside the CHI Health Center?
Finding a fulfilling food stand might be difficult if you are a food-lover. You can always walk to other restaurants close to the AGM for lunch.
How can you get a good seat?
Many legends are being told about the “race for the best seats” on the morning of the Berkshire Hathaway AGM. Some shareholders are even “camping” at the CHI from 2 AM to get in line for the “best” seats.

How can you navigate the venue, the CHI Health Center?
I recommend learning more about the venue, the CHI Health Center, to identify your “best seats”.
The Berkshire Hathaway AGM venue has a capacity for close to 19,000 people in its arena. I recommend using these resources to get to know the CHI Health Center further:
- You can learn more about the arena design with this seating map.
- To get a feel for the venue as a first-time visitor, it is super helpful to take this virtual arena tour.
- If you want to identify any seating areas to meet with friends, please consider using this seating scheme to find them.
Aside from the 19,000 arena seats, extra seating for thousands of shareholders is available via additional overfill rooms, like the Peter Kiewit Grand Ballroom. There, you can watch the live stream of the meeting. The plus of these “overfill” rooms is the more comfortable seats. Sitting for hours and listening to the Berkshire AGM 2025 is more leisurely in these rooms.
How can you get a seat close to the stage?
It is best to arrive early to sit on or close to the stage. Early birds can park from 2:00 AM in the CHI Health Center parking lots.
Waiting in line that early can be fun. I have heard of many friendships that were formed during the morning wait. It can make sense to bring a foldable camping chair and a blanket to make the wait comfortable in the morning’s cold. An umbrella or raincoat could also help in case it is raining.
The best seats might not be in the area in front of the stage. The areas 122-123 and 103-104 could have a better view of the stage.
How can you “just get a seat”?
You can arrive at 06:30 to 06:45 AM before the doors open if you are okay with not sitting on or close to the stage floor. You can speed up your entry by leaving your larger backpack at home.
How can you sit together with a group?
It is to go for the upper ranks to sit with a group. You should be able to have enough seats for a group there, as most shareholders first head for the lower levels to be close to the stage.
What is my personal experience?
My “strategy” is to arrive at around 6:30 to 6:45 AM. I always made it to get good seats at this arrival time. For me, there is no significant difference between the different seating areas. You can see the stage easily from every seat in the arena. The large screens and the excellent audio also help you to follow all the speakers words.

When are the opening hours of the exhibition hall?
The exhibition hall is a fantastic shopping opportunity. You can purchase products at the booths of many exhibitors on Friday and Saturday:
- Friday: You can access the exhibition from noon until 5 PM. For instance, you can combine your exhibition visit with your pick-up of Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 tickets at the will-call. Shopping might be more fun on Friday as the exhibition is less crowded, and all purchasable goods will be available.
- Saturday: The exhibition hall opens from 7 AM and closes at 4 PM. So, you can visit the exhibition at any time during the Berkshire Meeting 2025. Based on my experience, the exhibition will be more crowded the later the day.
How can you ship your purchases?
Berkshire Hathaway offers a shipping service in the Exhibition Hall for (US-based) shareholders. You can find more about it in the visitor’s guide.
I recommend using your travel luggage to bring your purchases from the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2025 to a country outside the US due to high shipping fees. Please plan with extra space in your luggage for your boxes of See’s Candies and your new investing books.
When can you best use the exhibition to research Berkshire Hathaway’s businesses?
You will have the chance to talk to a lot of the subsidiaries of Berkshire Hathaway at the exhibition. Many will also have parts of their management present. This will give you a chance to ask questions as a shareholder and to also do some research. The best time for research is Friday. On Saturday, you might risk missing management as they are listening to the Q&A in the arena.
Where can you get the best book deals?
Berkshire Hathaway will release a Berkshire Hathaway Annual Book Selection for every AGM. The latest list can be found on Bookworm’s website.
In cooperation with Berkshire Hathaway, the family-owned bookseller Bookworm Omaha offers a 20% special discount on these and more books. Books are available in the exhibition hall.
Are there more special book sales?
There are these alternatives to purchasing books outside the exhibition hall:
- The bookworm store in Omaha: The store is located at 2501 S 90th St. #111, Omaha, NE 68124. Shareholders with credentials can get 20% off on all book purchases. The discount is available from Thursday to Monday in the Berkshire Shareholder Meeting 2025 week. Please consider paying the Bookworm store a separate visit if you like books!

- Reuben sandwiches: The Reuben sandwich, created in Omaha, comes close to being an authentic “Omahaian meal”. You can enjoy a tasty Reuben in Omaha in many great places.
- Burgers: Barrett’s, Block 16 and Best Burger offer great burgers in Omaha.

- Blackstone: Blackstone is a lively neighborhood. Here, you can go out and find many interesting restaurants and bars to explore. Furthermore, you can also visit Berkshire Hathaway’s headquarters in Blackstone.
- Dundee: Dundee is another neighborhood in Omaha worth visiting, when you would like to explore interesting bars, restaurants, and shops.

Walking
Walking is an excellent option if you stay in Omaha’s east. The older districts of Omaha’s east offer a decent walking infrastructure. By walking, you can also explore the city better. Heartland Bike Share e-bikes
You can rent a Heartland Bike in many parts of Omaha. All your bike rides will be covered with the monthly pass for $20 (tax). All bikes are electric. So, driving is more fun.
The BCycle (iOS | Android) app helps you find and reserve bikes. These bikes are picked up and locked at a vast station network within Omaha. To find the safest biking routes, you can discover Omaha’s biking infrastructure via Google Maps.
Rental e-scooters
Lime electric scooters are for rent in Omaha. Lime scooters are directly bookable via the Uber (iOS | Android) app. You can also download the Lime (iOS | Android) app.
Which public or shuttle buses are available?
Omaha public bus system
Plenty of bus lines run daily from 6 AM to 9 PM in Omaha. I recommend watching this short video to master your bus ride. You can search for your best bus connections with the MyRide OMA (iOS | Android) app, Google Maps, or this system map.
Bus tickets are super affordable, especially if you travel long distances. A ticket only costs $1.25 per ride. They can be purchased online with the Umo app, at ticket machines, or in cash on the bus. There is also a 10-ride pass for $12.50. I recommend bringing the exact sum if you want to pay in cash. Refunds will only be done with vouchers.
I enjoyed using buses during my stay in Omaha. They were on time and offered a lot of seating. I especially recommend riding the ORBT line. It runs every 10 minutes from West to East and vice versa. Buses can often be faster than Uber and Lyft, if you factor in the wait time while only costing a fraction per person and ride.

How can you get around by Taxi, Uber, Lyft or rental car?
Uber or Lyft
Ride-sharing apps like Lyft (iOS | Android) and Uber (iOS | Android) can get you around in Omaha. Many trips should be doable below $10. You can also compare fares for Uber and Lyft to plan your budget. If you plan to take a Lyft, Uber, or Taxi from Omaha Eppley Airfield to your accommodation, please make sure to check out this website to find the right pick-up spot.
Taxi
Looking for a cab via the zTrip app (iOS | Android) or calling +1(402)292-2222 can save you a lot of money. Uber and Lyft can be super expensive during the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2025 week due to dynamic pricing. In such cases, taxis can be a cheaper alternative due to price caps.

How long should you stay in Omaha for the Berkshire AGM 2025?
There is no generally working answer to this question. It all depends on your individual budget and your available time. I, personally, recommend staying longer in Omaha.
Why do I recommend you extend your visit beyond the weekend?
I recommend staying in Omaha from Wednesday to Sunday or Monday. This can improve your stay at the “Woodstock of Capitalism”. The Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting has grown into the “largest trade fair for value investors” over the years. There are numerous awesome side events to explore.
For international visitors, an extended stay can be especially valuable. Just travelling for the weekend can be challenging. Jet lag and travel efforts can make a short stay especially intense. A longer visit allows you to better adjust to the time difference and enjoy all events better. Sadly, I could observe many international visitors missing awesome experiences when trying to just visit for the weekend.
Domestic visitors can also benefit from an extended stay in Omaha. Many worth-visiting events happen on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. There is also the advantage of avoiding the intense travel days: Friday and Sunday flights typically in intense demand. Additionally, missed connection flights can often to be common, as there are limited direct flights to Omaha. Many attendees have faced last-minute flight changes or delays. Building some buffer time into your travel plans can support a relaxed travel experience.
What can your shorter stay look like?
I recommend flying in Thursday night and flying out on Sunday after 2 PM, if you are on a tight time budget. So, you will have the chance to participate in most events on Friday and also the highlights on Sunday, like the Markel brunch.
Flying out on Saturday can be a practical solution if you need to be at home for parts of the weekend. But please develop a plan for storing/handling your luggage if you plan to visit the Berkshire Hathaway AGM 2025. Otherwise, you might run into difficulties.
How much does a trip to the Berkshire Hathaway Meeting roughly cost?
Let’s break the costs down a bit for the “average visitor” that travels alone:
What are my main costs?
These are main costs for your stay:
- Flight/transport to Omaha: You can plan with a budget of $300 to $1000 for domestic visitors and a budget of $600 to $1200 for international visitors (both in economy class).
- Accommodation: Calculate with a range of $60-$150 per night for a suitable accommodation (if you don’t do couch-surfing).
- Food: I recommend planning with $50 to $100 a day.
What can be your additional costs?
Please also factor in these additional costs:
- Your AGM ticket: You should calculate with $5 (domestic) to $25 (international), if you buy your Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025 ticket via eBay.
- Communications: You might have to calculate with $10 to $50 for your phone. Please find my recommendations on that below.
- Transport in Omaha: Calculate with $7 to $25 per ride for Uber or Lyft. The cheapest way to get around in Omaha is to book accommodation in walking distance to Old Market. The bus is also quite affordable and easy to use if you book an accommodation next to the frequent ORBT line. You can also use the Heartland City Bikes monthly pass for $20.
What could your travel expenses look like?
Your costs depend on your personal preferences, the time you spend in Omaha, your budget, how far away you live from Omaha and if you travel with a group. But for the “average visitor” I would recommend using the following calculation:
- Domestic visitors should have costs in the range of $1,000 to $1,500 for a 4-day stay in Omaha including the flight.
- International visitors can calculate with $600 to $1,000 for the stay without the flight. For instance, with a flight from Europe, costs should range between $1,200 and $2,000 in total.
What can you do to lower my travel expenses?
I am pleased to share a few cost-saving recommendations to reduce expenses during your stay in Omaha.
How can you find a suitable mobile phone contract?
Here, you can find my two recommended solutions for a mobile phone plan in the US:

If you’re staying in the US for a while, it’s a good idea to get a local phone plan with a US number. Services, like ordering food delivery or ride-sharing apps, need a phone number to work. Without one, you might have trouble using such services.
How can you save on FX costs?

How can you reduce food expenses?
We found a few hacks to reduce food costs:
- TooGoodToGo is the best app to save money and reduce food waste. It is serviced in many US cities. You can buy affordable meals with TooGoodToGo. Sadly, the offer in Omaha is minimal.
- Coffee to go: Consuming coffee outside your home can be costly. If you want to enjoy your coffee with milk, I recommend getting an Americano instead of a Cappuccino or Latte. Usually, you can fill up your Americano with milk for free at the shops.
How can you save transport expenses?
You can explore public transport opportunities for your trip, instead of using Uber for your trips. For instance, each bus ride in Omaha is only $1.25. E-Bikes can be purchased for a flat rate price. In some other cities, public transport can even be free.
I also recommend packing lightly and just traveling with hand luggage. Then, you don’t have to pay extra baggage fees. Furthermore, if you intend to shop in Omaha, I recommend having some space in your luggage. This allows not to pay additional luggage or shipping fees.
How can you travel to Omaha for the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025?
There are several options to travel to Omaha for the Berkshire Shareholder Meeting 2025:
How can you fly directly to Omaha?
Shareholders usually fly into Omaha’s Eppley Field Airport. Via Eppley Field’s website, you can find all available connections to and from Omaha. This Google Flights function can also help you visualize the best connections to and from Omaha. These recommendations could also be helpful for you:
- As an international traveler, please plan with enough time for immigration. You need 2 to 5 hours to enter the US at some international airports. I recommend scheduling a 4-hour buffer between international arrival and US departure to avoid trouble.
- I would recommend looking for flights from late October. Unlike booking a hotel, booking a flight is worthwhile waiting. Usually, airfares are cheapest three to five months before the AGM.
- The cheapest flights to Omaha can generally be found on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, prices will be higher due to the high demand. Outbound flights are usually expensive on Sunday and Monday. Prices go down from Monday again and should normalize on Tuesday.
- I recommend automating your flight research using Google Flights’ or Skyscanner’s price notifications. So, you will be notified when cheaper flight prices are available.
- To compensate for your CO² emissions, I recommend Atmosfair.

Which airports could you combine with a road trip to Omaha?
Sometimes, flying directly into Omaha is not the best option. There are also several airports close to Omaha you could fly to. From there, you could do a road trip in a rented car to Omaha. For instance, Qeeq should help you find the best deal for your car rental.
- National airports: The airports in Des Moines, Lincoln, Grand Island, Sioux City, and Kansas City are options for combing a road trip with flights within the United States.
- International airports: Minneapolis, Chicago, or Denver offer the chance to fly internationally into a city close to Omaha.
I recommend using Google Maps to discover interesting stops along your road trip. Maps does recommend a selection of high-quality stops as an inspiration for you. For instance, here you can find different stops along the road from Minneapolis to Omaha, from Chicago to Omaha, and from Denver to Omaha.
How can you get by train to Omaha?
You can travel by train to Omaha. Amtrak’s scenic California Zephyr runs daily from Chicago or Denver (Salt Lake City — San Francisco) to Omaha. On both routes, the observation car can make your trip spectacular.
- From Chicago, the train departs at 2 PM. You will arrive in Omaha at 10:55 PM.
- From Denver, the train departs at 7:10 PM and arrives in Omaha at 04:59 AM.
I recommend booking your train ticket six months before the AGM for the best prices.
If you are a fan of traveling by train as I am, you should also explore Amtrak’s USA Rail Pass. With it, you can ride ten travel segments in the US for $499 (and sometimes for the sale price of $299). This pass could be a great option, especially if you are eager to explore the East Coast.
Trains in the US sometimes run late as they share tracks with freight trains. The chance of having a delay is usually higher if you travel from Omaha to Chicago. You can track potential delays from or to Omaha with this map and this map.
How can you get by bus to Omaha?
Greyhound, Jefferson, Burlington Trailways, and Express Arrow buses approach Omaha. Traveling by bus in the US is very affordable but can also be a real adventure.
How can you book suitable accommodation for the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025?
It is worth planning your journey and your overnight stay early. I am sharing my recommendations for accommodations in Omaha to support your trip planning.
How can you find a good hotel room?
Omaha is packed around the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2025. So, hotel prices will rise quickly, especially as up to 90% of the hotel rooms could be booked on the AGM’s Friday and Saturday. You should book your room soon to get the best prices for the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholder Meeting 2025.
I recommend the following for your hotel search in Omaha:
- Booking directly through the hotel’s website. There, you will usually get the best deal.
- You can book numerous high-quality hotels and motels in Omaha online. I recommend a location with at least 4.5 stars on Google or more than 8.0 on Booking.com.
- The official Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders guide also has a list of selected hotels. You can go through it to find great deals.
- The neighboring city Council Bluffs (Iowa) is a secret tip if you are looking for an affordable hotel. Here, you could find a cheap hotel if prices in Omaha are high.
- Omaha’s hotel capacity has increased during the last few years. Searching for recently opened hotels or hotels opening soon could be helpful. As they are in the built-up phase and not on the radar of all visitors, these hotels could still offer capacity and a reasonable price for your stay during the AGM.
Where can you find a good holiday home?
For holiday homes, I recommend checking the following platforms:
- Airbnb: You can find the widest selection of reasonable accommodations at a fair price on Airbnb*. I am a massive fan of booking accommodation on Airbnb for the BRK AGM.
- VRBO: The competitor VRBO can also offer other home rentals that are not listed on Airbnb.
- HomeToGo: the aggregator HomeToGo can offer an additional selection of apartments. Make sure to check it for additional offerings.
How can you make sure to find a great holiday home?
I recommend the following checks to help you to avoid issues with a holiday apartment:
- Review the ratings: Please always review the ratings of the holiday home you consider booking. I would recommend at least a rating of 4.7 stars. In 2019, I made a mistake and booked a lower-quality place. So, sadly, I had to re-book for the week of the Berkshire Hathaway Annual General Meeting. This was pretty costly.
- Be aware of pitfalls: I have also experienced hosts that might ask for a 50%-100% higher price for an already booked accommodation when they finally realize that the AGM is taking place. The chance is below 5% that this could happen to you, but you should know that such a risk exists. If such behavior occurs, you should involve the platform you have booked through right away.
- Watch out for scammers: I also came across scammers who might want to make quick $ by offering accommodations that don’t exist. Please book only from hosts with a believable track record. Furthermore, please ensure your holiday home has at least a few reviews.
Are there any neighborhoods that could be unsafe?
Omaha is a pretty safe city. We never had the feeling of being unsafe. However, I have heard that North Omaha and Southeast Omaha might have areas where you should be more cautious.
What should you pack for my stay in Omaha?
Based on the observation of 300+ visitors and several AGM trips, I could share the following recommendations:
Which clothing should you pack?
Casual or business casual are the typical clothing styles during the BRK Hathaway AGM week in Omaha. A more formal clothing style is rare.
May and September are usually the nicest months of the year in Omaha. It is warm, but not hot. You can already enjoy the outdoors, but there are still risks of colder days. Therefore, I recommend for packing for all weather. Please bring some summer clothing with you, but also a warm jacket.
Midwestern weather can change quickly. Lovely summer days can turn to days with intense rainstorms. Even tornados are possible. Therefore, I recommend checking the weather report daily. Furthermore, please ensure you have rainproof cloths and an umbrella.
Which pieces of luggage could you miss in Omaha?
Omaha is way more south than many visitors, especially, if they are from Europe, might think. This also means an increased risk of sun burn. Please bring some sunscreen with you to avoid this.
During the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting week, Omaha is quite crowded. Hotels will be filled up to 90% for the weekend. This also means a higher noise level during the night. Furthermore, if your accommodation is close to traffic, this can can be very loud, too. Therefore, I recommend packing ear plugs to ensure great sleep.
